| JVC D-9 Digital-S is a compressed component digital recording format with a 4:2:2 sample structure, a 50 Mb/s active picture recorded data rate, and a robust digital track structure in its recorded tape footprint. Read before write video editing (also called "pre-read video") and 4 channel AES/EBU and embedded digital audio mux-demux is available on select models. The NTSC format machines provide for an active picture recorded resolution of 720x480 (the BR-D95 model will provide optional selectable additional picture record lines). Although Digital-S and S-VHS are two completely different formats (SVHS is an analog format with significantly less resolution totalling approximately 400 horizontal lines), a special BR-D51U player has both Digital-S and analog S-VHS playback capability. | |
